"Alaskan Husky" or just Alaskan , defines a function more than an actual breed. In fact, it is a crossbreeding of Nordic dogs with other kind of dogs, aiming for physical and mental skills fitted for sled pulling work.

Historically, this type of crossbreeding was first made in North America (Alaska in particular) in order to create the most suitable and efficient possible dogs for fast transportation in a polar environment. Nordic dogs were crossed with village dogs, hunting and shepherd dogs in order to select and optimize the desired aptitudes.

The Alaskan is therefore very difficult to describe by its look because puppies from a same litter can all be different looking: color, coat lengh, ears shape, etc. But they can all be defined by their skills of speed, endurance, pulling strength, as well as their sociability and their incredible will to go. That's how they became the best athletes to achieve races longer than a 1000km and polar expeditions alongside mens and womens who  care for them, raise them, cherish them and train them every day.

I discovered the sled dogs world in 2017 in Hossa National Park in Finland thanks to Alex.

90 Alaskan dogs, sled excursions, this feeling of freedom, simplicity, and a smile that never left me, were a real trigger for me ... I had finally found myself.

Unable to deny the obvious and having an immense desire to find accomplishment in my work, I decided to change career in 2020, I wanted to become a musher.

In 2011, finishing my sport studies, my phone rang:

"Hello ! We are looking for a person to strengthen our team on our multi-activity base in Finland. Outdoor work, help with guiding activities and dog training, but mostly maintenance of the kennel and care for the sled dogs. Do you like dogs? »

Love at first sight, a discovery and so many adventures afterwards. And we keep going...

Why the name HossAventures?

Because it's in the great Hossa National Park in Finland that everything started for Alex and I.

It was in Hossa that we discovered this lifestyle and took our first steps sleding, finally our first glide...

8 of our dogs were born there and are now continuing the adventure with us in the Jura.
